"10"

10 is a support group set up a number of years ago by 10 families with children with Down Syndrome under the age of 10.

10 is older and wiser now with an increased commitment to preserving and improving the educational and health care rights of our family members.

Reduced provision for Special Education Needs being introduced on stealth like basis by the Minister for Education Batt O’Keefe is activating groups such as 10.

Withdrawing the support of Special Needs Assistants, reducing the input of Resource teachers and increasing class sizes will bring people with Special Needs and their families onto the streets of Dublin to protest against the damaging policies of this Government.

Batt O’Keefe will be long gone from politics but 10 and other such groups will continue to fight for the rights of our people to fully exploit their potential.
